Privacy Policy for cuRRRency Chrome Extension

cuRRRency is a Chrome extension that provides a lightweight multi-currency converter widget.

Data We Collect

cuRRRency does not collect personal information.

The extension stores limited data locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Selected currencies (your preferred currency list)
• Cached exchange-rate data
• Exchange-rate update status (for example: ok / offline / error)
• Last update timestamp

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to the developer.

Data We Do Not Collect

cuRRRency does not collect or process:

• Name, email, phone number, or address
• Payment information
• Authentication credentials
• Browsing history
• Personal communications
• Location data
• Health data
• Analytics or tracking identifiers

Why the Extension Requests Permissions

storage

Used to save your selected currencies and cached exchange-rate data locally so the extension can remember your preferences and support offline conversion with last saved rates.

alarms

Used to refresh exchange rates automatically in the background once per hour.

Host permissions (exchange-rate API domains)

Used only to fetch public exchange-rate data required for currency conversion and fallback provider support.

Current API domains may include:

• open.er-api.com
• cdn.jsdelivr.net
• currency-api.pages.dev

No personal data is sent to these services.

Third-Party Services

cuRRRency fetches exchange-rate data from public third-party exchange-rate APIs. These services may receive standard technical request metadata (for example, IP address and user-agent) as part of normal HTTPS requests handled by your browser/Chrome.

cuRRRency does not send personal profile data, account data, or custom tracking identifiers.

Data Retention

Data stored by the extension remains on your device until:

• You remove the extension
• You clear extension storage
• The extension overwrites cached exchange-rate data during normal updates

Security

cuRRRency is designed to minimize data handling. It stores only local settings and cached rate data necessary for operation.

Children's Privacy

cuRRRency is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date above.
